Introduction to laparoscopy
- At the end of this course, the learner should be able to:
- Understand the history of laparoscopy that has bearing to the current practice of
MA&IS - Understand the physiological changes associated with pneumoperitoneum
- Identify the equipment and instruments used in laparoscopy
- Understand the principles of safe access
- Describe the principles of appropriate and safe energy source
- Practice on:
- basic eye hand coordination
- depth perception
- basic suturing and knot tying techniques
- Manipulation and dissection
- Understand the history of laparoscopy that has bearing to the current practice of
